Someone came up to me after a recent speaking event and said something that's been rattling around in my head ever since: "It's just really lonely being a business owner, isn't it?"

I gave the polite nod in the moment and wish we had a few minutes to really dig in to that acknowledgment. And on the drive home, it hit me harder than I expected.

Me, talking through my Q3 strategy with the only sounding board available: a volleyball named Wilson.

Because she's right. And also, I've spent years quietly building my way out of that exact problem without ever naming it out loud.

The rescue squad shifts. The skating rink. The speaking gigs. The strategy calls with clients who've become genuine friends. None of that was an accident. I built those rooms on purpose, because I learned a long time ago that "figuring it out alone" is a great way to burn out and a terrible business strategy.

That conversation reminded me that not everyone has done that on purpose. Some of you are still white-knuckling it solo, assuming that's just what running a business feels like.

It's not. It's just what running a business alone feels like.
